Microsoft has
reportedly
recently showed off a prototype Tablet PC running a customized version of
Windows XP along with a software developer kit (SDK) for the new platform at
their Professional Developers Conference (PDC). The unit is not expected to
be
available until 2002, and it will include handwriting and voice input.

files, and will

MSNBC is
reporting that U.S. military operations in Afghanistan includes the use of
handheld computers for a variety of tasks including: coordinate inspections,
download email, access the daily roster of operations, tracking troop
movements,
laser targeting, and carrying encrypted mission data.
Palm has announced two new
Palm
OS developer programs, a new certification program, and the availability of
new
