PC World has coverage of the new Adobe Acrobat Reader for Palm OS devices that enables viewing of PDF files.
The United Kingdom's BT Cellnet has announced plans to offer by the end of Summer 2001 Research In Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry wireless services via BT Cellnet's GPRS wireless networks.
Xybernaut has announced a new Mobile Assistant V (US$4,000) that uses digital signal processor (DSP) technologies from Texas Instruments and an Intel Mobile Celeron 500-MHz processor. Other key features: 30% smaller than earlier models; expandability (FireWire, PC Card, Compact Flash, & USB); 256-MBs of RAM; 8-MBs of SDRAM video memory; internal/external hard drive connections; and support for Windows & Linux operating systems.
CMS Peripherals reportedly has plans for a new Type II PC Card that could be used by Windows users (including Windows CE/PocketPC), and give them access to over 2-GBs of storage capacity. The unit will also be accessible via a USB interface.
Handspring has announced that they have signed a FileMaker Box Set License that enables them to deploy Filemaker database solutions company-wide (servers/clients/handhelds).
MapFrame has announced that their facilities and GIS data mapping solution FieldSmart (View, Collect, Inspect, and Design) now supports Windows CE devices. The package can also import CAD files.
