Symbol Technologies has announced a new agreement with PenRight! that enables Symbol to now market and resell solutions using PenRight!'s MobileBuilder v2.0 rapid application development tool for Palm OS, Pocket PC, Windows CE, and DOS solutions.

Palm has announced: #1.) A new partnership with Ingenico, VeriFone, & Visa to co-market and develop eWallet initiatives; and #2.) Garmin has licensed Palm OS to build a future line of handheld devices with built-in GPS capabilities.

CNET is reporting that Intel has plans for a new mobile processor expected to be on the market in 2002 with a core goal of having cutting edge low-power consumption features. Intel (according to the article) is also working on a mobile version of their new Pentium 4 processor.

Vaultus (formerly MoblieLogic) has announced plans to offer Research In Motion (RIM) BlackBerry Enterprise Edition customized solutions to users of Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes in enterprise businesses and organizations. Part of this deal requires RIM to provide to Vaultus at least 50,000 BlackBerry devices over the next

Context-Based Research Group has announced a new "anthropological" study of how consumers in nine major cities (in the following countries US, China, Japan, Sweden, France, & UK) use current wireless technologies, and what types of future wireless solutions they want to use.

BellSouth Wireless Data has changed their name to Cingluar Interactive.
