Socket Communications has announced plans to purchased the Windows CE embedded system engineering and programming company called "3rd Rail Engineering" in a cash and stock transaction worth over US$12 million. The edition of 3rd Rail Engineering will reportedly strengthen Socket's ability to provide Bluetooth wireless technology to a wider range of devices and platforms.
