IBM has announced that their first new "Palm OS focused solution" since their recent alliance with Palm is the ability to use IBM's WebSphere Everyplace Suite (which includes DB2 Everyplace database, MQ series products, VisualAge Micro Edition Java technology, and Tivoli Device Manager) to build wireless PALM.NET solutions.

Palm has announced: #1.) A new "Education Pioneers" grant program managed by SRI International geared to enable school teachers to gain access to affordable Palm OS solutions; and #2.) A new alliance with Peregrine Systems to bring enterprise remote access solutions to Palm OS devices.

OmniSky has announced a new wireless Springboard modem for their wireless services (email and web) that supports the new Handspring Visor Platinum and Prism handheld computers.

Pumatech has announced web-based synchronization solutions using Intellisync.com that will support a wide-range of devices including Palm OS, Windows CE/PocketPC, and WAP smartphones.

DDH Software's HanDBase database application for Palm OS now has a companion application called "HanDBase Desktop" for Windows desktop personal computers to enable better data management and expanded data input.

Targus has announced the availability of the complete line of Socket Communications' Battery Friendly line of CompactFlash Plug-in cards via their e-commerce site www.port.com.
