Alco Blom (Macintosh developer) and Rene Laterveer (Palm developer) have announced Web Confidential v2.0 for Mac OS and Web Confidential v1.0 for Palm OS. This combo (US$20 shareware) will enable a user to synchronize Web Confidential data (user IDs, passwords, registration numbers, etc. ...) between platforms.

Cutting Edge Software and Aether Software are reporting the release of a new "conduit" that will link Cutting Edge's Quicksheet v5.0 (handheld spreadsheet application) and Aether Software's ScoutSync (tool for connecting mobile users to enterprise network resources).

The Standard is reporting that online users in Latin American are a very small percentage of most demographics, but recent market survey data is predicting that in the near future most of the growth of Internet users will occur via wireless savvy phone devices and handhelds.

Ericsson, IBM, Lotus, Motorola, Nokia, Psion, Palm, and Starfish (plus 159 other companies) have released their first technical white paper outlining their SyncML initiative that details a client/server architecture for "universal data synchronization." [SOURCE: PMN Service]
