Handspring International has announced that they are now selling Visor handheld computers based on Palm OS throughout European markets. Consumer electronic retailers MediaMarkt (Germany) and Dixons (United Kingdom) will reportedly have Visors soon.

Karrier Communications has released "Intelligolf v5.0" -- golfing assistant -- for Palm OS and Microsoft Pocket PC devices. Key features: record game statistics; log distances; calculate handicaps; supports wagering games (Skins & Wolf); and access 7500 pre-prepared scorecards.

PMN News Service has announced a new feature article entitled "FTP for EPOC" that examines two of the most popular FTP client tools (RMRFTP & nFTP) for Symbian's EPOC platform.

SanDisk has announced new ImageMate card readers for CompactFlash (CF), SmartMedia, and MultiMediaCards. The ImageMate CF (USB or parallel port) expands support from Windows 95/98/NT to both Linux and Windows 2000.

Agilent Technologies' Semiconductor Product Group and Extend Systems have announced a new agreement that will make it easier for each company to build and market IrDA devices for use in laptops, printers, digital cameras, and other handheld devices. Specifically, Agilent will provide IrDA hardware solutions, and Extend Systems will provide their "XTNDAccess software" into bundled packages ready for manufacturer purchase.

Cutting Edge Software has released version 5.0 of their Quicksheet spreadsheet application for Palm OS devices that is now geared for enterprise and consumer deployment. Palm has recently "Platinum Certified" Quicksheet, and PalmGear HQ lists Quicksheet as their number one commercial software download.
