A host of companies -- Casio, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, and Symbol -- have announced plans to release new Microsoft based "Pocket PCs" (Windows CE next-generation) on 19Apr00. [SOURCE: PC World, InfoWorld]

Palm has announced: #1.) That there are now over 50,000 registered third-party software developers for Palm OS; #2.) The addition of Satjiv Chahil (chief marketing officer), Barry Cottle (chief operating officer); William Maggs (chief technology officer); and Doug Solomon (chief strategy officer) to their senior management team; and #3.) A new agreement with Yahoo to bundle Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Mail with future Palm handheld computers.

CNET.com is reporting that current cellular phone companies appear to be targeting the growing PDA marketplace. They are trying to make a case that consumers will only want to carry one portable device with them at all time.

InSync Online has had recent email pointers to the following two Palm OS products: #1.) Dietlog from Software; and #2.) Pocket Quicken from Landware.
