Palm has announced the creation of a new "wholly owned Japanese subsidiary" called "Palm Computing K.K." that will be focused with IBM Japan in creating Palm OS based Japanese language savvy solutions. Expect Japanese Palm OS devices based on the Palm IIIc and Palm Vx to ship in Japan on 15Apr00.

BellSouth Wireless Data has announced a new collection of mobile services and capabilities under the brand name "BellSouth MyBiz interactive." The core features of this new initiative is "Interactive Messaging" and "Internet email access" to a wide variety of mobile handheld devices.

FieldWorker reports that their flagship Windows CE edition of FieldWorker (data collection package) now supports "formulas." Registered users can download the new version online if they have their CD serial number available.

Cutting Edge Software (developers of QuickSheet), and Actual Software (developer’s of MultiMail) have announced a new "seamless Palm OS conduit" that will allow users of Palm handheld computers to automatically convert spreadsheets to the appropriate Excel or Quicksheet format when sending or receiving them as email attachments.

Canada's Rogers AT&T Wireless has announced plans to begin offering Research In Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry Internet Edition handhelds to customers. Part of this deal includes an order by Rogers AT&T for 10,000 BlackBerry units.

Puma Technology has announced a new agreement with Lycos that will enable mobile wireless devices to be able to access "round-the-clock alert and user- driven personalization solutions" that uses core software engines from both companies that when combined create "persistent search technology."
