Symbol Technologies has announced that their "network and bar code savvy" Symbol SPT 1700 pocket-size ruggedized computer has been integrated to work with "BD Rx System" for capturing of mobile patient information in hospital environments.

PC World is reporting that "IBM PUTS VOICE ON PALM - IBM announces ViaVoice version for handhelds, non-PC devices (like cars)."

@hand Corporation has announced a new mobile and wireless savvy enterprise developer tool called "@hand Mobile Application Environment" that supports Windows CE & Palm OS; and works with existing PC based coding tools like Visual Studio, CodeWarrior, and Satellite Forms.

ThinAirApps has announced: #1.) A new partnership with Mi8 for providing wireless data access to business users; #2.) The availability of a "public beta" test of their Lotus Domino integration toolkit; and #3.) A new "service" called ThinAir Apollo that brings email services, and access to Internet sites for mobile phone users.

Handspring has announced plans to enter the Japanese market with their Palm OS devices in the next quarter according to a CNET article that quotes from an interview with Handspring co-founder Donna Dubinsky.
