Palm's IPO occurred today, and at one point traded at US$160. The IPO could raise has much as US$819 million for 3Com. Analysts feel that the key to Palm, Inc. success will be how well they manage their growth. In 1997, they had 220 employees working in the Palm Computing group at 3Com, and today it is estimated that they have over 650 employees.

Casio Computer has announced more details about two new wristwatch type devices: a digital camera enabled version called "CAMERA WQV-1" (shipping June 2000), and an MP3 player version called "WRIST AUDIO PLAYER WMP-1V" (shipping March 2000). Casio already has a GPS savvy watch called the "Satellite Navi" and a PC watch called "PCX."

Avantgo has announced a new partnership with the physicians network called "ePocrates" to deliver timely professional and personal information to mobile ePocrates members.

National Semiconductor has announced the "USBN9603: a USB node controller solution that is 68% smaller than the industry TSSOP standard, making it the industry's smallest."

A property management firm in Hong Kong called "Kai Shing Management Services" has announced the creation of a Palm OS mobile building management system. [SOURCE: Reuters Securities]

David Bermeister has announced a new WAP based service called "AUSWAP" that will be available on 06Mar00. One of the key features on this site will be a United States and Australian phone directory search service, and a comprehensive index of available "WAP" sites.
