Motorola and Psion have announced the creation of a new "joint development alliance" that will be focused on creating a wide range of mobile Internet savvy devices based on Symbian's EPOC technology. The "team" for this effort has been fully staffed, and they anticipate a first product available from this effort in "first half of 2001."

MOBILE IPO OUTLOOK -- #1.) Palm Computing is reportedly looking to raise US$368 million in their Feb2000 initial public offering (IP0); and #2.) Metricom -- wireless system designer and developer -- is going to try to sell over US$500 million in common stock and warrants in their upcoming IPO. [SOURCES: CNET.com, Reuters]

MobileID is a new "wireless mobile portable" that enables access to email and personalized Internet content to mobile phones and other handheld devices.

PMN News Service is reporting: #1.) Psion's new Psion Infomedia subsidiary that will be focused on "digital audio visual and communications technologies"; #2.) That 3Com will announced two new Palm III form-factor devices in Feb2000 (color screen, and more RAM storage are potential improvements); #3.) The EPOC focused Go32.com has new partnership agreements with BTCellnet's Genie Internet, and Germany's AlphaSoft; and #4.) Sprint PCS's wireless network in America should be getting expanded "connectivity" support from new software solutions from ureach.com.

Sierra Wireless has reportedly signed a multi-year agreement with Sprint PCS to provide Sprint PCS with current and future Sierra Wireless Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) savvy data products.
