Symbol Technologies has announced that they have agreed to a new multi-year joint development pact with Intel for future "advanced wireless networking products." Part of this deal includes a US$100 million investment by Intel in Symbol Technologies.

Cybico has announced a new "handheld wireless device" geared for kids (ages 10-17) that can access the Internet for instant messaging and interactive gaming. Prices start in the US$149 range, and the device should be available via online stores in March 2000 & in retail stores in April 2000. In related news, #1.) 3DO is shipping their first color game for the new Game Boy Color; and #2.) Hasbro's Tiger Electronics has a new "cell phone" size mobile email device called "Lightning Mail." CNET.com is reporting that Handspring has announced plans to begin to sell Palm OS savvy "Visor" devices in select retail stores by late February 2000.
