Glenayre Technologies has announced that they will sell their @ctiveLink two-way wireless messaging module (US$179) as a standalone module for use with Handspring Visor handhelds. Before this announcement, you could only buy the module in a "bundle" with a Handspring Visor unit for US$428.

Tadpole Technology has announced the completion of their acquisition of Cycle Computer Corporation, and will use Cycle's high-density motherboard solutions to build Sun-Solaris-UltraSPARC mobile devices under the brand name "Tadpole-Cycle".

Teletype has announced the availability of a PC Card GPS receiver that is compatible with Windows CE devices and Windows laptops. Teletype also has software interface solutions that work with card. The card is also available via Handango and Mobile Planet; or in a bundle with the Compaq iPAQ.

JetForm Corporation has announced plans to purchase Joey Technologies. JetForm will use this acquisition to accelerate development of next-generation data-collection applications for handhelds.

Certicom is reportedly in the process of beta testing some new handheld savvy Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) software solutions that should be out on the market Q1'2001.

OpenAir.com offers project management solutions to professional organizations over the Internet, and supports offline access from Palm and WAP devices.
