Wizcom Technologies has announced a new product called "Quicktionary II" -- a pen-shaped translation tool for scanning text (English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Swedish, Traditional and Simplified Chinese and Japanese). The unit should ship in Sep00 at a suggested retail price of US$179.

PhatWare has announced that they are now shipping HPC Notes 3.04 Standard (US$40) and Lite Editions (US$20) for Windows CE based devices.

Socket Communications and ZIO Interactive have announced a new joint agreement to develop and market Bluetooth enabled multiplayer games for Windows Powered Pocket PCs. The first game will be ZIOGolf and will enable players to compete up to 30-ft. away from each other.

Parks Associates has published a new study entitled "Information Appliances and Pervasive Net Access" that is predicting that "information appliances" (including handhelds) will begin to out ship total numbers of personal computers in the United States during the year 2001.

Palm has released a new Palm Ethernet Cradle that links Palm OS devices for synchronization to local area networks (LAN) using 10-Mbps connectivity.
