Industry analysts seem split on how Microsoft's new PocketPC will fare against Palm OS and EPOC devices. HP has announced that they are shipping PocketPC devices, Compaq and Casio have both announced that they will be shipping PocketPC devices very soon.

Britannica has announced "Britannica Traveler" for Palm OS devices that includes wireless Palm.net access support. [SOURCE: PC World, Associated Press, San Jose Mercury News]

PhatWare has announced that their Professional, Standard, Desktop, and Lite Edition of HPC Notes 3.03 all support PocketPC devices. PhatWare's HPC Spell, HPC dbExplorer, and HPC NetProfile also support PocketPC.

InfoWorld has published a recent article that examines the "start-up work pace" that South Korea's Gmate corporation is going through as they push to bring their Linux based PDA called "Yopy" to market.

ThinAirApps has announced that they have developed a customized wireless email application that will allow Juno Online Services' 9 million registered users to access their email using a Palm's wireless savvy Palm VII handhelds and Palm.net.

Purple Software has announced a new EPOC-savvy classic card solitaire called "HomeRun" (UK$14.95+VAT). Some features: support for up to 6 player records; detailed statistics; bonus points; hidden levels; and multiple view options.
