Pendragon Software has a database and forms development tool called Pendragon Forms 3.0 that will link Palm OS devices to Microsoft Access or to other ODBC data sources such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.

Metrologic Instruments has announced that Lockheed Martin Postal Systems has purchased 220 TECH 8 industrial bar code scanners for a system being deployed for the United States Postal Service called "Automatic Airline Assignment (AAA)." The AAA system automatically assigns mail trays and tubs to a commercial air flight en route to a city nearest the zip codes on the letters or parcels.
