SBC Communications and Bellsouth have announced plans (that will still need to be approved by the Federal Communications Commission) to create a combined wireless operation under a new company venture. SanDisk has announced two legal related news items: #1.) A U.S. Federal judge has ruled that Lexar Media has infringed on a flash memory card patent held by San Disk; and #2.) Mitsubishi Denki Co. Ltd. (Mitsubishi Electric) has filed a "compliant" in Japanese court against SanDisk's Japanese subsidiary that alleges that SanDisk has infringed on three Mitsubishi Japanese patents.

The United Engineering Foundation has announced the 1st Annual Microdisplay 2000 Conference to be held 07-09Aug00 in Boulder, Colorado.
