ZDNET's TechWeb is reporting that Psion's new EPOC based "netBook" could be considered a viable "threat" to Microsoft's Windows CE.

Wireless Information Technologies (I.T.) 1999 will be held 02-04Nov99 at the Santa Clara Convention Center (California).

Judy Kirkpatrick the VP and GM at digital publishing site "Fatbrain.com" is quoted in a recent Book Publishing Report as saying, "With the handheld devices, there are only a handful of users right now. It's just not a market that's attractive to us."

Palm Computing has announced "free one-day seminars" to be held in Australia and Asia devoted to "learning the latest and greatest" about handheld computing with a focus on developer tools and showcasing solutions.

The Stanford PalmPilot User Group (SPUG) meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, so the next meeting will be on 07Sep99. The Guest of Honor will John Schettino of Hewlett Packard Labs who is also the author of the forthcoming "PalmPilot Programming for Dummies" book. The location of the meeting is the usual: Printer's Inc Bookstore Cafe, 310 California Ave, Palo Alto, California.
