Bill Machrone's "New Product Alert" available via PC Magazine Online and ZDNET examines the new Windows CE savvy IBM WorkPad z50 that is built like a mini-ThinkPad. IBM has bundled their IBM Mobile Connect Windows CE client with the WorkPad z50 (US$1000) for "easy access" to Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange. [OTHER SOURCE: NewsBytes]

Ramel Levin has announced the freeware release of FanMate for Palm OS under a "layer of fog" with regards to publicly available details about this product. The developer says it is "cool" but we haven't verified it yet.

Evany Thomas, the Managing Editor at Webmonkey, reports the creation of "Designing Web Sites for PDAs" (tutorials and articles).

iambic Software has released a new sales tool that can "track opportunities, leads, referrals, sales, costs, taxes, and commissions" for Palm OS devices called "SalesWarrior." The new tool can also integrate with iambic's Action Names product, and will sync to Windows and/or Macintosh desktop systems.

Casey Axe, the Sales and Marketing Manager for WESTTEK, would like to announce a new Windows CE savvy product called JETCET that will enable mobile printing to a wide range of printers. The Pro version of JETCET (US$60) lets you "spool jobs, view and print color GIF and BMP images, print two-up, and print Pocket PowerPoint files."

Beh H L notes that there is a buzz on the USENET newsgroup comp.sys.newton.programmer that Kip Knight at Prism Research has been able to "reverse" engineer the majority of the Newton "platform file" format.
