GT Interactive's WizardWorks has announced plans to release a new line of Windows CE games on 12Mar99--titles include: "Fun Pack, America's Greatest Card Games, Crossword Puzzles, Solitaire Pack Vol. 1, and Casino Pack." Each title will retail for under US$20. Hasbro Interactive has also announced that Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and Slingo will also be ported to Windows CE in the near future. Puma Technology has been awarded the "prestigious Mobility Award" at the recently held Mobile Insights show for their Intellisync for PalmPilot and Windows CE synchronization software solutions.

Dan Carney and other journalists at Federal Computer Week have just published (22Feb99) a significant "Product Comparison" article entitled "Finding the right handheld computer." The devices examined include Casio's Cassiopeia E-11, Philips' Nino 312, 3Com's Palm III, Compaq's C-Series 2015C, NEC's Mobile Pro 700 and 800, and Hewlett-Packard's Jornada 820.

Microsoft has begun a "developer marketing push" to the embedded developer community for their "Microsoft Windows CE Platform Builder v2.11" (US$999). They are also offering Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit for Visual Basic v6.0 (US$199) and Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit for Visual C++ v6.0 (US$199).

The CIO Magazine published on 01Mar99 examines the Xybernaut Mobile Assistant IV (wearable PC, supports Win98/NT or SCO Unix, US$5000) on page 60, and the Sharp Mobilon TriPad PC (easel/slate/clamshell Windows CE device, US$999) on page 61.
