Microsoft has announced plans to offer wireless capabilities to Palm-size PC devices running Windows CE using IrDA communications between IrDA savvy cell phones, or a combo cell phone & a Socket Communications' Socket Digital Phone Card (in CompactFlash form factor). Microsoft will also use AvantGo's "Web client for access to AvantGo.com" (a content site designed for small screen devices). Motorola and Glenayre Technologies have announced plans to co-host the "1999 Wireless Developers Conference" that will be centered around building ReFLEX based two-way messaging solutions. Other major sponsors already announced include: PageMart and Skytel.
