Concept Kitchen (with design help from Bridge Design) has announced "Bumper" (US$40, shipping in Jul99)--a new "shock-proof and water-resistant case" for Palm Pilot OS devices. Key features: high level of protection, ergonomic industrial design, hideaway lid, dual-stylus ports, built-in loops for straps, pass-through infrared window, and two color options: Sports Yellow or Asphalt Gray.

MCI WorldCom and billionaire investor Paul Allen have announced plans to invest a combined US$600 million in the portable wireless data service company called Metricom in exchange for 87% stake in Metricom. San Disk has announced -- #1.) Plans to be a "single source supplier" of CompactFlash (CF), MultiMediaCard (MMC), PC Card, and SmartMedia Flash memory cards to retail channels; and #2.) That they will be supplying MultiMediaCards to Korea's Information & Communication (I&C) for use in I&C's recently announced MP3 savvy "MP Master IM-100 Internet Music Player."

BSQUARE has announced: #1.) a new e-commerce Windows CE driver library called "CE Xpress OnDemand"; #2.) an automated testing suite called "CEValidator"; and #3.) "CE Xpress86" for running and loading Windows CE for developer debugging on x86 Pentium and 486 PCs.

Lars Bergstrom has announced an "adventurous" release of Scheme 48 ported to Windows CE running on Handheld Pro PC devices (especially the Vadem Clio). This programming development environment release is based on Kali v0.52 and there are some non-standard extensions to the FFI in this Windows CE release.
