Europe's Portable Add-ons (a supplier of mobile computing solutions) has announced a new "low cost 12 channel GPS receiver" that is ideal for integration with mobile handheld devices.

A&R Partners (PR firm with customers who include Palm Computing, Fujitsu PC, & Siemens) has announced that two other "mobile solution companies" have joined A&R Partners' "mobile computing group" -- Aether Technologies and Riverbed Technologies.

Malaysia's COMPUTIMES is reporting that 3Com has announced plans to participate in a flagship "telemedicine program" called the "Multimedia Super Corridor" project in Malaysia. 3Com will offer up networking and handheld computer technology, and expertise to the initiative.

Nikkei English News is reporting that 140+ Japanese based book publishers have created an online book distribution consortium that will be able to offer over 5000 titles. The site will be operational in Nov99 and will offer some unique services to mobile handheld customers.

Socket Communications has announced: #1.) Plans to team with "MTDS Oy of Norway" to develop and market a version of MTDS' Digital Phone Card software for Windows CE; and #2.) That they have released a new version of their "Battery Friendly" software for their line of Windows CE based Ethernet plug-in cards.

Actual Software has announced version 3.0 of their MultiMail for Palm OS with the following key new features: 256-KB maximum message size and integration of SSL security.

MICROS Systems (a hotel information technology company) was showing off their first prototype "OPERAPalm" application at the Hospitality Industry Technology Expo and Conference held recently in Atlanta, GA.

PalmPoint has announced the availability of Dual Action Stylus (pen/stylus) in a new "sleek design."
