Ovum (a market research company) is predicting that "sales will rocket" by 2004 (in the US$19 billion range) for mobile computing devices throughout the Asia Pacific region. Communications Today is also quoting a story related to Ovum data research that finds that "data-enabled wireless devices" will account for two-thirds of the US$67 billion worldwide handset market within the next five years.

Timberline Software Corporation has announced Precision Palm Estimating (Palm OS) for "remote project estimating."

ParkStone Medical Information Systems has announced a new "point-of-care data management for physicians and their patients" called PPARIS for Windows CE. The goal of this system is to improve physician efficiency and improve patient care.

An appriasal software company called "a la mode" has announced a new real estate appraisal software toolkit called "Pocket TOTAL 2000" for Windows CE.
