Baromtec (Korea) has announced plans to use SanDisk's MulitMediaCard for Baromtec's new Muz.M BMP-100 internet music player (MP3 savvy). Baromtec's Muz.M BMP-100 is reportedly the industry's 14th announced new Internet music player to use MultiMediaCard technology. SanDisk also recently announced that Intermec Technologies new Norand 600 Series Windows 95/CE handheld will use SanDisk CompactFlash (CF) memory cards as their "primary boot source and storage device."

Nikkei English News is reporting that Mitsubishi has a new 32-bit RISC processor in the works that will include access to built-in flash memory.

Riverbed Technologies has announced recent new alliances with Computer Associates (systems management), Oracle (database), and Sybase (Web connectivity) for future handheld and palmtop data synchronization solutions. Riverbed's ScoutSync will support Palm OS and Windows CE devices, and it will also include a host of security related features.

Michigan State Palmtop User Group (MSPUG) has announced that their July 1999 edition of their newsletter is now available via: surf.to/mspug.

Texas Instruments has been awarded a new U.S. Patent for "a method of configuring a mobile computer to use, and to switch to/from different computer network configurations."

StockUp.com has announced their 2nd beta of QuoteStream -- a desktop personal portal that is also "ideal" for use with wireless handheld devices.

AirTouch Cellular has announced a new all-digital service called "Net Access" that will initially let travelers and mobile workers in Western Washington access their intranets or the Internet from a wide-range of mobile devices (more locations will be announced in near future)
