Applied Human Factors has posted a free demo of their REACH Interface Author--"a keyboard authoring and windows management system" for Windows devices that is ideal for touch screen systems or handheld computers.

PC World is publishing the following potentially interesting article entitled "STOCKING STUFFERS: HANDHELD PC BACKUP. Giving someone a handheld PC? Better stick some backup storage in their stocking, too." The article examines the new Iomega Clik! drives for handheld devices.

SanDisk Corporation has announced that Intermec Technologies' Norand Mobile Systems Division will be bundling SanDisk's 60MB FlashDrive (2.5-inch form factor) with their Windows 95/98 savvy Norand PEN*KEY(r) 6560 fixed mount industrial computer.

GDI Global Data has begun shipping "PenRight!'s pen-based OS" on NOVAS handheld units that can be integrated with "laser bar code scanners, printers, signature capture, handwriting recognition, and/or power management" technologies.

Joachim Bondo has announced plans to release at least three revisions to his popular freeware chess player for the Newton called "Deep Green" in 1999. The next revision will support German and Danish, and future versions will show captured pieces, a new "move list," a "simulation view," and the storing of game files.
