ZDNET's AnchorDesk "gadget ace Nicci Noteboom" examines the "original" PalmPilot upgrade add-on called the "Synapse Pager Card" that brings you Palm III and paging capabilities via this article entitled "A GADGET MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN: PALMPILOT AND PAGERS".

A host of publications, like ComputerWorld, Mobile Computing, ZDNET UK Online, and PC Week have been covering more details recently related to 3Com's new wireless Palm VII device that is expected in Q2'99. While details are still sketchy, it appears that the "wireless" part of the equation is getting firmed up quickly. The Palm VII will be more than likely using UDP transmissions over a Mobitex network architecture delivered by AT&T using Certicom's elliptic curve cryptography for security.

Sean Luke is working on releasing a new freeware innovative search tool (not yet in Beta) called "Hemlock" for the Newton that uses Steve Weyer's Newt's Cape for an interface.

Softwarebuero Mueller has released an update to Countries 1.0.3 (US$10 shareware)--a Newton preferences roll extension that lets you change existing "country" data and add new "countries" to this resource.
