Pendragon Software Corporation has announced InfoRover v1.5--a desktop to Palm OS device that will download news and Web content from the Internet to a desktop PC, and then format the content for viewing on Palm OS devices. This new version supports "improved graphics, synchronization with multiple PCs, and proxy authentication." The software is free for non-commercial use, but news service subscriptions start at under US$30 for six-months.
CHINA NEWS is reporting that Everex, Palmax, and B Com have announced plans to build future "color" palm-size handhelds and mobile phones that are Windows CE savvy for the Chinese handheld marketplace.
Power Media has announced "Pocket Games: Pikoban (puzzle), Pegged (mind boggling), 4-In-Line (concentration), and Guess Me (code breaker)" for Palm OS devices. The software was written by Tan Kok Mun and will retail for under US$35.
SIEMENS is reportedly nearly ready to announce a deal with a "major software group" (Symbian? Microsoft? 3Com?) that will make it possible for them to build future "mobile phones capable of Internet access." Intelligent Systems has announced BackupBuddy, a Palm OS HotSync utility that not only backs up the built-in applications but all the other applications and corresponding data on your Palm OS device. The desktop GUI is reportedly easy-to-use and includes "very cool" overview displays and backup status views.
