Information Week Online is reporting that IBM and 3Com have signed a significant cross-licensing agreement that gives both companies wide access to each other's technologies -- servers, Internet software, networking, wireless, and handheld.

Enfour has announced a "freeware" drag-n-drop Macintosh application that extracts plain text information from EPOC Word and OPL (EPOC end-user programming language) files. The utility package will also convert plain Mac text files into EPOC format for file transfer down to EPOC devices using Psion's "MacConnect" application.

PhatWare Corporation has announced the availability of HPC dbExplorer 1.4 for Windows CE 2.x savvy devices (SH-3, SH-4, MIPS, & StrongARM, size 100-KB). This tool allows a user to browse and manage databases on their mobile device. It also adds the ability to "Copy, Rename, Delete, and Transfer (via infrared port)" databases.
