Jason Brown at w-Trade Technologies reports the release of a new technology offering what they are calling "w-Bank wireless banking" that enables financial institutions to offer handheld based wireless banking services (ie. check accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, and create "intelligent account alerts"). Devices supported include -- devices running Palm OS or Windows CE; and two-way pagers (RIM Inter@ctive) & smart phones (Nokia 9000il Communicator). w-Trade also recently announced that their "wireless handheld stock trading solution" is being used by: Dreyfus Brokerage Services , MyDiscountBroker.com and Firstrade Securities Inc.

CIC has announced the release of "RecoEcho for Palm OS" (Graffiti input using the full screen), and "WordComplete for Palm OS" (intelligent dictionary to help speed text entry).

Symbol Technologies has announced that Ford Motor Company has announced plans to deploy Symbol Spectrum 24 Wireless LAN systems to "worldwide offices, diagonstic centers, and dealerships."

Iambic Software has recently released a new version of their time and expense tracking package called "AllTime for Palm OS". New features include: interface improvements; enhancements to "Quickfill" (intelligent data input from previously inputted data); and ability to track both clients and projects. Data can be exported via a: report filter, text export to Memo Pad, or direct email.

PC Chips has signed an agreement to "burn in" Philips Serg Koren notes the release of his "Visual3D 3D Graphics Library for NS Basic v2.x" (US$15, Windows CE only) -- which includes "35 documented routines including: 2D/3D - Orthogonal, Stereoscopic, Perspective, and Hidden Line Support Matrix operations.
