Martyn Williams at Newsbytes reports on 28Sep98 that Matsushita Electrical Industrial has two new sub-notebook PCs in the work: the CF-C33J8C will come integrated with a digital camera (ships in Japan on 23Oct98), and the CF-C33J8K will come with a cellular interface for wireless connectivity (ships in Japan on 07Nov98).

Three-Five Systems has announced a "new major" production order for liquid crystal display (LCD) modules to be used in a digital GSM phones devices by an "unnamed" major US digital phone manufacturer. The LCDs will be built in Manila, Philippines and then shipped to Beijing, China to be integrated into phones.

Quick on the recent strategic alliance news with Sybase and 3Com, Sybase has announced another strategic alliance with BellSouth Wireless and Research In Motion (RIM) to integrate wireless network access from BellSouth with RIM's Inter@ctive Pager 950, and Sybase's Adaptive Server Anywhere mobile database and UltraLite technology.
