Landware has announced a 16Oct98 release of their innovative "GoType!" portable keyboard docking station for 3Com PalmPilot devices. The device will retail for just under US$80 and pre-ordering is available.
Novatel Wireless has announced a 01Sep98 ship date for their Windows 95/NT/CE savvy Sage Wireless IP modem that uses Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) connectivity. The modem supports speeds up to 19.2 Kbps, has a built-in TCP/IP stack, and will retail for just under US$400. CDPD services are currently supported in the US by Ameritech, AT&T Wireless, Bell Atlantic Mobile, GoAmerica Communications, GTE Wireless, and Vanguard.
Fujitsu Software Corporation will be briefing their new technology called "ByeDesk Link" to interested parties on a one-to-one basis at the PCS '98 conference (23-24Sep98). This technology makes it possible for an independent company to design a system capable of sending email, faxes, shared calendars, data updates, and "instant messaging" to mobile handheld devices using GSM cellular connectivity.
SanDisk is proud to announced the "50th" digital camera to use their CompactFlash (CF) storage cards: the new Minolta Dimage EX ZOOM 1500 megapixel digital camera, which will come with a 4MB CompactFlash card that can store up to 40 images using Minolta's "economy" compression mode (other modes like "fine" and "standard" are also available).

Intelligent Peripheral Devices (IPD) has announced the release of their "wireless IrDA interface upgrade" to their AlphaSmart 2000 "Intelligent Keyboard." The device will communicate with IrDA printers from Apple, HP, and IBM; and will also work with Apple's new iMac computer. The upgrade kit will sell direct to AlphaSmart 2000 owners for US$30, and a PC/Mac external "wireless pod" is also available from IPD for US$45.
Revelar Software (based in Salt Lake City, Utah) has announced the release of "Accordion v1.5 for the Newton"--a connection utility for the Newton to/from FileMaker, Inc.'s FileMaker Pro 3.0 for the Macintosh. The software can be downloaded and purchased over the WWW for US$39.
