SanDisk is reporting two news items: First, Casio will be bundling a SanDisk 8MB CompactFlash card with Casio's new QV-7000SXdigital camera. Second, the new MultiMediaCard Association, founded in May98 with 14 firms, has doubled in size with 15 new firms joining in recent weeks.

Sierra Imaging has released "Image Expert CE" for Windows CE devices (available direct for US$50) that lets users take digital camera pictures and upload them to their Windows CE device of choice for manipulation and/or for transmission via email or ftp. [PC Week, 17Aug98, page 43]

Wireless & Mobility Magazine has published their Summer 1998 edition that focuses on "Successful Application Solutions in 1998." This issue has a host of very good articles and pointers to wireless vertical and horizontal handheld market solutions.

PageMart Wireless is now selling the Synapse pager card for PalmPilot devices (not the Palm III) for US$169 with nationwide coverage starting at US$19.95 a month. Adding the Synapse pager card to an older PalmPilot device effectively makes it a Palm III minus the IrDA port. [Information Week, 07Sep98]

Joe Paone has a "security focus" article entitled "Make the data sitting in PalmPilots more secure" on page 18 of the LAN Times published on 14Sep98. The article notes solutions available from Mobile Generation Software, Fieldlink, Palmation, TealPoint Software, and Daniel McCarty.

Palm Computing has announced pricing for their Developer Conference that will take place 01-04Dec98 in Santa Clara, California: US$895 if ordered before or on 01Oct98, and US$995 after 01Oct98.
