Stephanie Miles at CNET News.com brings readers news that 3Com's "New PalmPilot Device Delayed" until some time in early 1999, but it should still be officially announced at the Palm Computing Worldwide Developer Conference being held 02Dec98 in Santa Clara, California. The device is codenamed "Razor" and includes a new "thinner" form factor, 4MB of storage, a better display, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
TipWorld's "New Product Gossip of the Day" has coverage of LandWare's new "GoType Keyboard" for PalmPilot devices that should be released at the Nov98 Las Vegas COMDEX computer show. According to the TipWorld item: "The keyboard provides true touch-typing with its 17mm spaced keys, quiet operation, and six programmable function keys that can be assigned to favorite applications or commands via LandWare's bundled software driver. GoType weighs less than 14 ounces and measures 10 x 4 x 1 inches."
Psion and Mulberry have teamed up in the United Kingdom (UK) to offer a special package--a "Special Edition Pearlescent Series 5 in Aqua Green bundled with a traditional smooth tan leather Mulberry slip case." This special edition package will be available at "Dixons, John Lewis, and other good electrical retailers" for £449.95 (UK Pounds)
GolfIdeas, in conjunction with Green Mountain Software Corporation, has created a "fully featured" demo of their PalmPilot electronic golf scorecard application called "ScoreCard Pro." This product is also available for Newton users.
Jonathan Hirshon notes a Wired article entitled "E-books in the Palm of Your Hand" by Niall McKay that brings readers news that Peanut Press is now distributing PalmPilot savvy e-books and has plans to do the same for Windows CE and Newton devices. Currently, Peanut Press has 41 titles at prices ranging between US$5 to US$15.
