Reuters and Newsbytes are both reporting that Oracle (http://www.oracle.com) has confirmed that they are working on building mobile Oracle clients for PalmPilot and Windows CE devices. "Oracle Lite" will be available in Q1'99.
Advanced Recognition Technologies (http://www.artcomp.com) has annouced an agreement with Ingram Micro that gives Ingram Micro the right to distribute their "smARTwriter Plus" products for Windows CE. ART (PC Expo Booth #1247) has also announced spoken command recognition software called "Voice Suite" that comes with "smARTcommand and smARTcontact."
Psion (http://www.psion.com/) is now bundling a copy of Lotus Organizer 4.1 Premium Edition (http://www.lotus.com/) with all Psion Series 5 systems sold in North America. This version links Lotus desktops with mobile Psion devices. You can learn more by calling 800-99-PSION.
Electronics Times (published on 26May98) reports that Dexdyne has a new 486-based Intel embedded controller called the "AM410-PC ultra low power" that is ideal for being used for Windows CE solutions. This single board system includes DIMM RAM sockets, EEPROM, Flash or SRAM support, EIDE interface, five RS232 ports, and optional IRDA, LCD and Ethernet interfaces.
Both Sharp (http://www.sharp-usa.com) and Hitachi (http://www.hitachi-visualtech.com) have both announced new sub-11 pound SVGA LCD Projectors for PC/Mac notebooks. Sharp's projector is called "Notevision4 (XG-NV4SU)" and lists for US$7000. Hitachi's project is called "CP-S830 Mobile Multimedia LCD Projector" and lists for US$5499.
