New World Technologies has announced the creation of a "lifestyle catalog" specifically designed for PalmPilot devices and users. The catalog is shipping as of 22Jul98 and is called "BRAVEpalm."
The Orange County Business Journal published on 13Jul98 has an interesting article entitled "AST Co-founder Steers Clarion's AutoPC Unit" that examines Clarion's plans to build Windows CE based "AutoPC" devices that could be on "store shelves" by the end of 1998.
Socket Communications is now shipping a "PC Card adapter that allows users of Windows CE-based Handheld PCs to connect to 10BaseT LP-E Card (US$149) or 10BaseT/10Base2 LP-E+ Card (US$189) Ethernet networks."

Mitsubishi Electronics America's Electronic Device Group has a new LCD controller called the "M66272FP" that has enough VRAM (19.2K) to store two screens of 320 x 230 pixels for doing screen animation. Steve Weyer has reportedly made a new beta of Newt's Cape 1.6 for the Newton available to his registered users. This new beta has the following plugins: HTMList 1.0c-2, JPEG 1.0b, and Encoding 1.0b.
Foundation Systems has released HyperNewt 2.62 for the Newton -- "an update to the 'hyperlink' application and 'hierarchical filing system' that changes the way one views and organizes data on his/her Newton." A 30-day demo is available, and pricing of the software is US$49.95 directly from Foundation Systems, or US$50 from Kagi.
