3Com's Palm Computing has announced a new Palm VII device that will be integrated with a "broad range of wireless information access and e-commerce solutions." Palm Computing has also announced a new developer program that will facilitate the creation of such wireless Internet solutions. The new device is expected to be available for field trials in early 1999 with general availability later in 1999, and developers can learn more via Palm.Net. Pricing for the Palm VII is expected to be around US$800, and wireless Internet access could be priced as low as US$10 a month.

Pilot Island Publishing has announced a new multimedia device for PalmPilot devices called "PalmParrot." This innovative add-on lets users digitally record and playback voice and sounds from Palm III devices.
