Iomega has announced that they have begun shipping Clik! Mobile Drives for Digital Cameras (US$249). This bundled solution comes with a Clik! Flash Memory Reader, one 40MB Clik! disk, and a PC parallel port desktop docking station. The "Mobile Drive" version for laptops and handheld devices will ship in Jan99, have an estimated price of under US$200, and include a PC Card adapter plus the Flash Memory Reader. 40MB Click! disks are expected to cost under US$10 a piece when purchased in a 10-pack bundle.
PC World covers the announcement of the "two-facing LCD screen" eBook by EveryBook. The device will have a US$1500 price tag, and isn't supposed to ship in volume until Spring 1999, but it does support Adobe's PDF format as its primary media type. The article does note that SoftBook Press and NuvoMedia have already begun shipping their respective electronic book devices in the United States for much lower prices.
Mark/Space has announced a new PalmPilot based "Online v1.0 Terminal Emulator" that was formerly published by Haus of Maus. The new online price is under US$30, and there are upgrade options for former owners of the Haus of Maus version. Online v1.0 works via a clip on modem, a serial connection to an external modem, or direct link via a serial cable. Mark/Space is also running some Enterprise and Personal use specials on their complete line of PageNOW! products. Ask for the "Winter Holiday Discount" when calling 800-799-1718.
