Intermec Technologies (based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has announced a new Pentium based, Windows 95 savvy portable computer called the "Norand PEN.KEY 6632" that comes bundled with Communication Intelligence Corporation's (CIC) HRS 5.0 handwriting recognition software.

ZDNET's Jesse Berst's AnchorDesk has posted two articles of potential interest to mobile users: "EIGHT IRRESISTIBLE NEW GADGETS" [includes PalmPilot], and "HOLD OFF BUYING THAT HANDHELD: You'll get a better deal in a few months thanks to new advances".

The Irish Times published on 28Aug98 has an interesting article entitled "Traffic-control overhaul puts Dublin offenders online" that notes that currently 90+ traffic control officers are using 50+ WPI Husky handheld PCs wirelessly linked to control center databases using GSM modems.

Concept Kitchen published Issue #003 of their free handheld newsletter entitled What's Cookin' on 29Aug98. The newsletter includes news about Concept Kitchen handheld products, and notes that they have created a "discussion area" on their PDA-Dash site.

The Baltimore Sun published an article entitled "Palm Pilot still the handheld to beat" on 24Aug98. The reviewer compares the Palm III vs. the Philips Nino palm-size Windows CE device.
