CNET NEWS.COM is reporting a story by Stephanie Miles entitled "PalmPilot to get thinner, faster." The focus of the story is on future 3Com PalmPilot devices codenamed "Razor" that are expected to be available in Nov98.

Tegic Communications is now shipping their "text input utility" called "T9" for 3Com Palm Pilot devices. The software retails for just under US$40 and it can be purchased directly via the World Wide Web.

EE TIMES Online reported on 18Aug98 that Intel "has conceded defeat in its effort to promote the Miniature Card flash-memory module as the de facto standard for portable consumer electronics devices, leaving the rival CompactFlash and SmartMedia camps to battle for dominance in the small-form-factor flash-card market."

Advance Systems has an "enterprise" PalmPilot product they call "ASL-Connect" that makes it possible to engineer a remote server synchronization solution for mobile users with enterprise applications like Lotus Notes, Oracle, Ingres, Sybase, or SQL Server.
