James Bond looks to Windows CE for help

by Dan Hanttula

Everyone who knows me well can tell you I'm crazy about three things: Windows CE, James Bond movies, and pepperoni pizza. Much to my excitement, on November 19th, two of my favorite things are getting together. Hewlett Packard has arranged to get their Jornada 420 Palmsize PC into "The World is Not Enough," this year's James Bond film.

No, Q won't be supplying 007 with a tricked out Windows CE device. Rather, Denise Richards (the Bond Girl) will be using it in the film. While we couldn't get complete details on the use of the device, we have seen still photos of the Jornada attached to her hip (which sounds good to us) while traveling around a construction site and using the device in cramped quarters to get out of a sticky situation.

In return, HP will be getting a little help from the super-suave secret agent. Anyone who purchases the Jornada 430se will receive a coupon for three classic Bond movies and a collectable 007 key chain. According to HP, they weren't able to get the 430se into the film, because the prototype designs were not available at the time. This might be better, since the 420 has the flashy purple look befitting the world's most beautiful and dangerous women.

James Bond and Windows CE is a match made in heaven. Now, if I could order a pepperoni pizza from the Jornada, my life would be ideal!
